Rieme Limonade Artisanale
score =
We bought this thinking it was Italian - the big sign on the display said "Italian" - honest!
Sorry, Mr. O'Reilly!
Bottle appearance:
Seriously cool bottle - ceramic look (it's really plastic) stopper, and a very convincing
grapefruit pink color!
Soda appearance:
We are smacking our lips! Why can't American soda makers make a tasty looking soda,
instead of rejects from the artificial color factory? It has a very deep, foamy head too. Can't wait!
Smell:
This smells so grapefruit-y it wants to squirt you in the eye.
First Impression of taste:
I first taste the carbonation, but Greg and James both said "wow - grapefruit!!!".
Second Impression:
Second taste is sour, but a good sour. Not a sour-candy type sour, but an honest grapefruit
pucker.
Flavor:
Well, at the risk of going on and on, it's just grapefruit. Real, not overly sweetened, and
we find it very, very refreshing.
Carbonation:
Very high foamy head, and the carbonation is very easy going down. It has a strong taste at
first sip, but dissapears soon afterward.
Full Description:
Oh this is good! Perfect on a hot summer night! Grapefruit Limonade Artisanale, made in
France by Rieme Boissons, is simply wonderful. It's low calorie (88 per 8 oz serving), and the ingrediants are
as follows: carbonated water, beet sugar, citric acid, and natural grapefruit flavor. No wonder it's so
tasty!
Score:
James gives this a 5 without thinking. Greg and I agree on a 4. If it was just a tiny bit
sweeter we could quaff it down like a coke or Moxie. The tartness is refreshing and honest, but does keep
us from drinking more than a small glass at a time, and for some reason it is making us burp long after the glass
is empty. Perhaps that is a good thing, but everything needs to be measured against our Moxie!
