Energy Hammer by Mad River isn't a carbonated soda - it's
more like a fruit drink. The label leads you think this might be a health
drink, but the 26g of pure cane sugar per serving leads us to think
otherwise.
Bottle appearance:
Typical fruit juice/drink shape and oriental style graphics.
Soda appearance:
Sort of a pear-like greenish yellow.
Smell:
First impression was lemon, but it changed quickly to melon
or mango. Which is strange because there is nothing like that in the
ingredients.
First Impression of taste:
Nice watered down juice. It even tastes like hints of pear
or mango.
Second Impression:
There are no second impressions. It's like watering down a
nice blend of juices.
Flavor:
Nothing to add after the first impression. It's just a nice
juice drink.
Carbonation:
This isn't carbonated. Bummer!
Full Description:
This one isn't actually a soda, much to our disappointment.
And it's very tasty and normal, much to our disappointment. It's tasty - if
we saw this in the cooler at the market we would certainly pick it up again.
The ingredients are quite exotic after the water, sugar, orange, lemon and
apple juice - guarana, panax ginseng, and bee pollen. Why people insist on
drinking and eating stuff that bees excrete out of their orifices or
collect with their dirty little unwashed hands, is beyond me...
Score:
We rate this a 5. We really like the flavor, and could
easily chug these all day (and bounce off the walls like a whole pack of 4-
year-olds, after all that sugar...).
